Lorraine Kathryn Robinson, age 87 of Red Wing, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at her home. She was born on April 15, 1923 in Belle Creek, Minnesota, the daughter of Eugene and Justine (Hofschulte) Ryan. She attended country school and Red Wing Central High before graduating from Goodhue High School in 1940. Following high school she had worked in Cannon Falls and Saint Paul before marrying Dale Robinson on March 2, 1946 in West Saint Paul. They moved to Red Wing in 1950 and she began working as a printer at Josten's in the 1960's, retiring in 1984. Dale died January 3, 2008. She was a member of the Church of St. Joseph, the Women's VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries, and she had been a part of the St. John's Hospital auxiliary as a "Pink Lady". She loved playing cards, cross stitching, reading, walking, being with her family and traveling.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Diane (Bob) Coulter of Rochester, Bruce (Belinda) Robinson of Bloomington, Illinois, Daniel (Candi) Robinson of Red Wing, Kathleen (Mac) McClellan of Faribault, Lori (Jim) Eppen of Red Wing, and Linda (Brad) Wipperling of Red Wing; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings; Marietta Falk of Milwaukee, Jean (Stan) Filgas of Fresno, California, Audrey Murphy of Torrance, California, Lloyd (Joyce) Ryan of Goodhue, Eugene (Lucy) Ryan of Hastings, and Mike (Jan) Ryan of Pepin, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; son Timothy Robinson; and a brother, Lyle Ryan.
Mass of Resurrection will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Church of St. Joseph in Red Wing with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and also for one hour prior to the Mass at church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Red Wing. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to the church or Fairview Red Wing Hospice.
