Lorraine E. Nance

Lorraine Elizabeth Nance, 89, of Red Wing, died Saturday, January 23, 2010 at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. She was born March 23, 1920 to Peter and Lucy (Gierstorf) Schanus. She helped raise all of her twelve brothers and sisters. Lorraine married Ralph Nance when he was in the service. The couple raised a family in Hastings. After Ralph died she moved to Red Wing where she resided at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. She enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting, and flower gardening. Lorraine was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

She is survived by six grandchildren, Kim Nance of Eagan, Bob (Kelly) Nance of Mankato, Lisa Nance of Pine Island, Andrea (Gene) Benck of Hager City, Joe (Tara) Nance of Prescott, and Tonia (Greg) Nance of Red Wing; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanne and Rosemary and one brother, Marvin; daughter-in-law Anna Donaldson Nance, and three siblings, Marv, Rose Mary, and Germaine. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; two sons, Robert and Allen, and siblings, Donald, Clifford, Richard, Daniel, Georgine, Cecilia, Edward, Melvin, and La Verne.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Dar Reeck officiating. Burial will be at Guardian Angels Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
