Lorraine Viola Moore, 90 of Red Wing, died Monday, April 29, 2013 at St. Brigid at Hi - Park. She was born March 22, 1923 in Goodhue County, daughter of Jens and Viola (Hinck) Larsen. She attended her schooling in the Burnside School District. On November 27, 1945, Lorraine married Wallace Moore, Sr. in Nashua, Iowa at the Little Brown Church. The couple made their home in Red Wing where Lorraine made her living as a painter for Red Wing Pottery. She also worked as a cook at the Seminary Home. Lorraine and Wallace retired to Amery, Wis. where they lived for a number of years before returning to Red Wing. Wallace died in 1981. Lorraine was a member of First United Methodist Church, Redman Club and the American Legion Leo C. Peterson Post #54 Auxillary. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing and crocheting and crocheted an afghan for each of her grandchildren's weddings.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Wallace (Mickey V.) Moore, Jr. of Red Wing, and Eileen (Gary) Ide as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Willis Larsen and one great grandchild.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, with Debby Bradley officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
