Lorraine Katherine Peterson, 92, Red Wing, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at her home at Valentine's. She was born August 27, 1919 in Princeton, MN, the daughter of Charles and Amanda (Morris) Kuhlman. She attended schools in Princeton and when she was 14 years of age the family moved to Blackduck, MN. She married Clyde W. Peterson on February 21, 1947 in Bemidji. They lived in Minneapolis for many years. He died January 21, 1975. In 2003 she moved to Red Wing. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed gardening, needlework, card playing and traveling to Texas with Clyde in the winter for a number of years. She treasured her family, friends and her dogs. Following the death of her husband she enjoyed the company of a special friend, Steven Humanansky.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Guy) Napurski of Red Wing; one granddaughter, Laura Ann Napurski of Duluth, and one grandson, Guy Paul Napurski of Dover, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Peterson; one brother, Edward Kuhlman; one sister, Dorothy Kuhlman; and her special friend, Steven Humanansky.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Barbara von Haaren officiating. Private family burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
