Lorraine K. Fick age 86 of Lake City died Friday, June 27, 2008 at the Lake City Hospital.
Lorraine was born October 19, 1921 in Hammond, MN to Leo & Ruth (Wagner) Wiley. Lorraine graduated from Mary E. McCahill High School in Lake City. She received her teachers training in Red Wing and St. Cloud. Lorraine taught in rural schools in the Lake City area and she was a substitute teacher at the McCahill School in the Lake City. She also worked as the church secretary at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake City. She married Howard Fick September 28, 1945 in Lake City. They lived and farmed in Lake Township in Wabasha County for many years until moving to Lake City. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake City where she served on many women's organizations with in the church, chairman of women's committee of Farm Bureau of Wabasha County, Lake City Hospital Auxiliary, American Red Cross Coordinator for the Blood Bank for more than 30 years., she also volunteered at the Lake City Nursing Home.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan (Robert) Hart of Rushford, Barbara (Richard) Sorenson of Oronoco, MN; two granddaughters, Victoria Pierret, Erica Cook; two great grandsons, Lucas Pierret, Simon Pierret; three sisters, Ruth "Betty" Heise of Lake City, Patricia (Charles) Savage of Frontenac, JoAnn (William) Plante of Buena Vista, AR; three brothers William (Delores) Wiley of Lillington, NC, David (Janet) Wiley of Forest Lake , Phillip (Linda) Wiley of Lake City. She was preceded in death by three brothers James, Eugene, Denis and one infant sister Mary Ellen Wiley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake City at 11:00 am with Father James Russell officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church.
