Lorie Davis

Lorie Ann Davis, 72, of Zumbrota, died Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the Zumbrota Care Community after a courageous battle with COPD. She was born August 16, 1952 in Mankato, Minnesota to Edward and Elaine (Verdick) Shannon. She graduated from Albert Lea High School, class of 1970. She moved to Rochester for work before moving to Zumbrota where she made her home for more than 40 years. She worked for the Zumbrota Care Center and later for McDonalds. She married Arnold Davis and from that union, one son, Arron, was born. The couple later divorced.

She was a bit of a homebody enjoyed reading and spending time with her cat. She also enjoyed growing and potting flowers. She was a member of United Redeemer Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her 3 siblings, Linda (Charles) Trost of Albert Lea, Peter (Deanna Cook) Shannon of New Berlin, Wisconsin and Carol Shannon of Vadnais Highs, Minnesota; nieces and nephews, Kelli Trost, Krista Trost, Kari (Josh) Luehmann, Megan (Brandon) Meister, and Alex (Halie) Cook Shannon; 4 great nephews and one great niece; and her good friend, Cindy Rumpho.

She is preceded in death by her son, Aaron Davis; her cat, Sweetie; and her parents.

Lorie's family would like to thank everyone who was involved with her excellent care at the Mayo Clinic, Methodist Campus, St. Croix Hospice, and the Zumbrota Care Center.

A celebration of life will 11 a.m., Saturday April 26, 2025 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Larson Chapel in Zumbrota with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow at Zumbrota Cemetery.
