Lorena M. Bragg
Lorena Maria Bragg, age 93, of Lake City, died Monday, March 21, at the Lake City Nursing Home. Lorena was born April 19, 1917 in Lake Township, Wabasha County to John and Minnie (Glander) Allers. She attended school in Lake City. She married Harlem Wiebusch on May 2, 1934. They owned and operated Lake City Concrete for many years. Harlem preceded her in death on June 8, 1976. She later married Cecil Bragg. The couple wintered in Texas and spent summers in Lake City. Cecil Bragg died in 1992. Lorena was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was active in Ladies Aid and the Missionary Society. She was a long standing member of the Lake City Country Club and FSA (Foreign Student Association). Golf was her passion, and she was thrilled the day she shot a hole in one. Lorena loved gardening, sewing, playing cards, and quilting.
Survivors include one son: Ralph (Mariann) Wiebusch of Mound, MN and two daughters: Phyllis (Floyd) Scharlemann of Lafayette, CO and Janice (Thomas) Mumford of Alexandria, MN; eight grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands; brothers, Lawrence, Norman, Alvin, Elmer and Vernon Allers and sister, Florence Gehlar; step-siblings, Walter Gundt, Selma Gundt, and Helen O'Brien; and one grandson, Tye Mumford.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 25, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City with Reverend Daniel Kroll officiating. Burial will take place at St. John's Cemetery in Lake City. Pallbearers will be Bob, Eugene, Dean, James and Anthony Wiebusch. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family of Lorena would like to thank the staff at the Lake City Nursing Home for their special, loving care.
