Loraine Deden

Loraine Deden, 93, Pequot Lakes, formerly of Red Wing, died Friday, July 9, 2010 at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby, Minnesota. She was born December 7, 1916 to George and Edna (Warn) Bennett. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church. She attended schools in rural Ellsworth and graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1935. She married Ralph Deden on October 17, 1936. She worked at JC Penney, the Republican Eagle, and Wilson Oil Company. Ralph died on April 29, 1992. In 2004 she moved to Pequot Lakes to be closer to her family and for the past month has resided at the Care Center in Crosby. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the National Polka Organization. Loraine enjoyed old time music, traveling, and camping.

She is survived by one daughter, Lois (Wyman) McCarty of Pequot Lakes; two grandchildren, Maureen (Donald) Haines of Cross Lake and Janell McCarty of Richfield; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Marian TerBorch of Red Wing and Eileen (Arthur) Gelhar of Spooner, Wisconsin; one brother, Wilfred (Bernice) Bennett of Lenexa, Kansas, and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband in 1992 and one brother, Clifford.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 at First Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Dave Jore officiating. Burial will be in Diamond Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center or First Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
