Lola A. Kish, age 99, of Zumbrota, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Zumbrota Health Service. Funeral service will be on Monday, December 31, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church - Mazeppa at 11:00 am with Pastor Alan Horn officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Zumbrota Cemetery. Arrangements were made with Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel.
Lola Anna Ehlers was born on August 23, 1919 to Henry and Bessie (Haas) Ehlers at home in Chester Township, Wabasha County. She was baptized at home on December 2, 1919 by Pastor Willis Beck of Evangelical Lutheran. Lola was confirmed on August 14, 1931 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa by Pastor Theo Xaar. She attended school in rural Mazeppa and two years at Mazeppa High School. On June 4, 1941 Lola married Melvin Kish at St. John's Lutheran Church. They made their home outside Zumbrota where they farmed and raised two children. Lola was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies Aid as President, Secretary and Treasurer. She also volunteered with Wise Penny Tuesday Crew for 10 years.
Lola enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, finishing homes i.e painting and staining, and spending time with her family.
Lola is survived by her daughter-in-law, Virginia Kish; son-in-law, Larry Cullip; five grandchildren, Christine (Rick) Henne, Jason (Kerri) Cullip, Roger Kish, Jennifer (Jason) Outcalt, and Amanda Reiser; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; son, Gary Kish; daughter, Nancy Cullip; brother, Earl Ehlers; and two sisters, Evelyn Post and Gladys Grossbach.
