Lois Marion Pfluger, 84, of Red Wing died at her home on Friday, October 28, 2016. She was born on October 2, 1932 in Rochester. When she was a young girl Lois moved to Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1950. She attended Saint Olaf College for one year and then returned home to help care for her ailing mother. She married Clair Pfluger, in 1954 at United Lutheran Church and together they raised five children. Lois was a dedicated mother and homemaker and her pride and joy was her family. After her children were older, she began working at the Red Wing Public Library where she designed and created monthly displays for over 20 years. She brought her artistic flair to everything she did. Lois also greatly enjoyed bird watching, gardening, sewing, knitting, oil painting, crosswords puzzles- so much so that she and Clair would each get their own copy of the newspaper so they could each complete their own crossword. Lois will be remembered as a ray of sunshine who always saw the beauty in everyone and everything.
Lois is survived by her children Jeffrey (Norine Stauske) Pfluger of Grafton, Wisc., Suzanne Parker of Hudson, Wisc., Roxanne Boelter of Saint Cloud, John (Krista Johnson) Pfluger of Wayzata, and Rebecca (Maureen McLearen) Pfluger of Wayzata; nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her sister Shirley Johnson.
Come celebrate her life with us from 4-7 pm on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. A Moment of Reflection will be held at 7 pm. Memorials are preferred to Heartland Hospice
