Lois Iva Nehring

Lois Iva Nehring, age 89, of Mazeppa, died on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island. She was born on August 24, 1923, in Mazeppa Township, Wabasha County, to Ignatz and Bessie (Copp) Grossbach. Lois attended country school and graduated from Mazeppa High School in 1940. She also attended Lee Beauty School in St. Paul and graduated in 1941. On June 23, 1943 she married Victor Nehring at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa. Lois became a homemaker when the couple adopted two daughters, and later worked at different beauty shops and Zumco in Zumbrota from 1966 to 1976. Lois was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa where she was active in ladies aid, and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed her garden, flowers, sewing, and crafts.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan McMahan of Rochester, Debra Pauli of Minneapolis; three grandsons, Brian (Stacy) Haugen, Shannon (Devon) Haugen, Shawn Haugen; six great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Ava, Keagen, Ryder, Lisabel, and Chloe Haugen.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Victor who died on December 12, 1994; and grandson, Bryce Haugen who died on July 21, 2005, brother, Warren Grossbach.

Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa with Pastor Alan Horn officiating. Burial will be in Mazeppa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Epilepsy Foundation or American Diabetes Association. www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
