Lois Jean Lindahl

August 21, 1932 — August 1, 2016

Lois Jean Lindahl, age 83 of Pine Island passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Olmsted Medical Center Hospital in Rochester. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Pine Island with Pastor Rick Ormsby officiating. Burial will be in Pine Island Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:30 - 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and on Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Lois Jean Rogers was born on August 21, 1932 in Claremont, MN to Roy E. and Jessie Rose (Patterson) Rogers. She grew up in the Dodge Center, Byron and Claremont areas and attended high school in Dodge Center. On February 4, 1950 she married Robert N. Lindahl at her mother's home in Rochester. They lived in Brownsdale, Rochester, Byron and settled in Pine Island in 1964. Lois Jean helped Bob run the farm, was a fulltime homemaker and when her children were younger she worked at the Rochester State Hospital and Waters-Connelly. In 1984 Lois Jean started working for Olmsted County as a home health aide. Lois Jean was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pine Island, lifetime member of the Island Riders Saddle Club and a homemakers group. Lois Jean loved to ride horseback, camping, cooking, playing cards; especially Bridge, dancing, snowmobiling, reading, watching sports, going out for dinner and especially spending time with her family.
Lois Jean is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Scott (Diane) Lindahl of Pine Island, Deb (Ron) Ruegg of Alexandria, and Brian (Kathy) Lindahl of Chino Valley, AZ; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; niece, LuAnn (Richard) Trumble of Portsmith, VA.
Lois Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Jessie; sisters, Erma Rogers, Ethel Kramer and Lucetta Cain; niece, Carol Olsen and nephew, Jerry Cain
Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Pine Island or Pine Island Area Home Health Services.
