Lois Emma Buck, 82 of Lake City, died unexpectedly Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Mount Pleasant Township of Wabasha County, Minnesota on May 12, 1932, daughter of John and Emma (Lutjen) Klein. She grew up in Mazeppa, and attended her schooling in Lake City. On June 5, 1932 she was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City. She was confirmed on July 22, 1945 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa. On June 16, 1949, she was united in marriage to Walter Buck. They had two children, David Larry Buck and Sharleen Faye Kohrs (Buck). Lois made her living working as a bookkeeper and clerk for Anthony's and Rose Clothing, and worked as a homemaker. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Lois Club, and played cards with a group of ladies regularly. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening with Walt, wintering in Florida, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Lois is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Walter; 2 children, David (Jean) Buck and Sharleen (Dale) Kohrs, both of Lake City; 6 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church, with Reverend Dennis Valleau officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City.
