Lois Brinkman, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at her home in Lake City.

Lois was born on January 24, 1936 to John & Alma Hinck in Red Wing, MN. She was baptized in Christ on February 22, 1936 and confirmed in May of 1949. Lois was raised in rural Lake City on a farm with her sister Arlis. She graduated from Goodhue High School in 1953. She worked for the State of Minnesota for 7 years after high school. Lois married Rudolph Brinkman on May 5, 1962 in Belvidere Township. In June of 1969 they welcomed their son Lorne into their home and raised him on the farm until they retired in 1990. They then moved to Lake City and enjoyed their retirement traveling and attending social events. Rudy died in April of 2001. 

Her faith was the most important thing to her. She spent hours each week with the Lord in prayer and meditation. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Lois was very dedicated to volunteering with St. John’s, on the Altar Guild, Choir and also for the school helping them with many projects. She volunteered at the Care Center and Wise Penny. She loved her grandchildren, Mariah and Ellianna, and would often babysit and attend their school events. Lately, she loved seeing her great-grandchildren and cherished her visits with her family. She was in numerous clubs around town including the Lois Club and the Neighborhood Card Club, and the VFW Auxiliary. She was an active gardener through her whole life including this last year. She loved flowers, playing cards, dancing, and going on trips with Rudy. She loved going on small adventures with her son and daughter-in-law, and spending time with numerous friends and relatives. Lois was a wonderful and irreplaceable Mother and friend. She will be dearly missed by many.

Lois is survived by her son, Lorne (Alyshia); her grandchildren, Mariah (Tim) Eisen and Ellianna Denzer; her great-grandchildren, Luka and Isla Eisen; sister, Arlis Brinkman, friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a baby, a brother, and numerous brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws.
