Lloyd L. Wright

Lloyd Leslie Wright, 87, of Red Wing, died Thursday, March 13, 2014 at his home at Potter Ridge. He was born on December 10, 1926 in Baldwin, Wisconsin to Leslie and Benora (Ramlet) Wright. He graduated from Baldwin High School in 1944 and then served in the US Navy during World War II as a Corpsman, from December 1944 to August 1946. On June 25, 1949 he married Marion Finley. They lived in Baldwin until 1961 where he managed the Baldwin Clinic. He then became Hospital Administrator for Bloomer Memorial Hospital in Bloomer, Wisconsin from 1961-1963. They moved to Red Wing in 1963 where he owned and operated the Ace Hardware Store until 1985 when he went to work for DBI retiring in 1993. He was a member of United Lutheran Church and the Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post #54. He was a pilot for 64 years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and field training his dogs.

Survivors include his wife, Marion; three children, Jack (Nancy) Wright of Burnsville, Jean (Wayne) Miller and Jim (Julie) Wright all of Red Wing; seven grandchildren; Brady (Rachel) Miller, Kerby Miller, Andrew Wright, Victor Wright, Eric Wright, Tanner (Claire) Wright and Jenna Wright; three great grandchildren, Vanessa, Madelynn and Owen; one sister, Dorothy Schatzley of LaCrosse and one brother Robert Wright of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial service will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, March 17, 2014, at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Justin Bodeing officiating. Full military honors will follow the service. Burial will be in the Baldwin Cemetery in Baldwin Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 10 a.m until the time of the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
