Llewellyn V. Ecklund age 78 of Lake City passed away September 24, 2008 at the Lake City Hospital Mayo Health System.

Llewellyn was born June 8, 1930 in Minneapolis to Amos & Hilma (Olson) Ecklund. He grew up in Cambridge, Minnesota and his family later moved to Goodhue. Llewellyn married Evelyn Geronime December 16, 1950 at the St. Joseph Church Parsonage in Red Wing. He enlisted in the Marine Corps March 5, 1951 where he served during the Korean War. He was discharged June 1, 1952. He and Evelyn moved to Lake City in 1953. Llewellyn worked at Di-Acro in Lake City for 30 years as a tool & dye supervisor. He was one of the original founders of the Lake City Lions Snowmobile Club and former member of the Lake City Sportsman's Club. Llewellyn loved to hunt and fish, especially bear hunting. He also enjoyed spending time at his land up north, four-wheeling and snowmobiling.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn, two sons, Jeff (Donna) Ecklund of Lake City, Jay (Donna Warren) of Lake City; four daughters Linda (Curtis) Lichtblau of Lake City, Vicki (John) Briedel of Mims, FL, Deb (Don) Stokes of Red Wing, and Val (Charlie) Lichtblau of Mims, Fl; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and a brother Tyrone (Jan) Ecklund of Oracle, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Gregory and a brother Duane.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday September 29, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided by the Lake City VFW Post 8729 and American Legion Post 110.
