Lisa M. Klindworth died on Monday, September 19, 2011 at her home in Mazeppa after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church in Bellechester with Pastor Tom Isaacson of United Redeemer Lutheran Church in Zumbrota officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 4:00 - 9:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Lisa Marie Strauss was born on August 7, 1960 in Red Wing, MN to Kenneth "Bud" and Mary (nee Benda) Strauss. She grew up in Bellechester and graduated from Goodhue High School in 1978. She attended Inver Hills Community College for one year. Lisa started working for the Mayo Clinic. On July 26, 1980 she married Dennis J. Klindworth at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester. They made their home on the Klindworth family farm. Lisa continued to work at the Mayo Clinic until her health failed. Lisa fought cancer for thirteen years. She also helped Dennis with the farm and field work. Lisa was a member and active in United Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school, Relay for Life, Bear Valley Riders Saddle Club and she was a 4-H Leader. She enjoyed attending her children's school and sporting activities, gardening and canning, traveling and reading.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Dennis; children, Jacob and Rosemary of Mazeppa, Alex (Amber) of Zumbrota and Brandon of Mazeppa who is currently attending the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point; father, Kenneth "Bud" Strauss of Bellechester; sisters, Elizabeth "Lib" (Pete) Lommen of St. Charles, Marie (Roger) Stangl of Prior Lake, Jacqueline Hutchinson of Apple Valley; brothers, Greg (Colleen) Strauss of Chaska and Tim (Shelly) Strauss of Maplewood and many nieces and nephews.
Lisa was preceded in death by her mother Mary and brother, John.
Memorials are preferred to donor's choice.
