Lisa Holter 1979-2009
Lisa Ann (Lofthus) Holter died Thursday, January 1 at Season's Hospice, Rochester, MN following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Lisa was born October 26, 1979 in St. Louis Park and spent her childhood years forming fond memories in Saint Charles. In 1989, she moved to Winona and in 1998, she graduated from Winona Senior High School, where she participated in track and band and formed sustaining friendships. Following high school, Lisa moved to Rochester to attend Rochester Community and Technical College. During this time she loved her duties as a nanny and also began working at Baker's Square, where she found great friends. In 2000, Lisa met the love of her life, Christopher Holter. In 2003, Lisa was diagnosed with a brain tumor, however, she never let this challenge slow her down and she achieved her dream of obtaining her bachelor degree in business administration from Winona State University in 2005. She continued to work full-time at Baker's Square and managed to enjoy many adventures with her friends and family. Another dream came true as Chris and Lisa finally married in a love-filled ceremony on August 18, 2007.
Lisa loved the warmth of summer, music, shopping, laughing, her cat Sophie, the patrons of Baker's Square, and spending time with her friends and family. She is known to those who love her as "Sunshine" for her vibrant, selfless personality, happy-go-lucky attitude, and inner beauty. Lisa is loved by many and will be missed dearly.
Lisa is survived by her husband Chris, parents Doug (Cindy Marek) Lofthus (Winona) and Jeanette (Kevin) McCullough (Colorado Springs, CO), sisters Angie (Eric) Chapman and their daughter Rayna (Woodbury), and Sara (Chad) Sutter and their children Ava and Isaac (Winona), Chris' family Gayle and Spencer Holter (Rochester), sister Kim (Eric) Moilanen (Jacksonville, FL), Grandmother Bernice Lofthus (Montevideo), Grandparents Merlin and Jean Smith (Florissant, CO), many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends Emily, Joe and goddaughter Raegen Ties (Rochester).
