Funeral services for Linne Book will be held Tuesday June 25th at 11:00 AM at Mahn Family Funeral Home in Rochester. The Reverend Jeffrey Utecht will officiate. Burial will occur at a later date at Oronoco Cemetery. Mrs. Book, 90, recently of Lake City, died Friday June 21, 2013 at her Lake City home.
Linne I. Manner was born September 21, 1922 in Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada the daughter of Kust and Mathilda Manner. Raised there, she married George R. Book on June 21, 1941 in Port Arthur. The couple moved to Rochester, and together they owned and operated Book's Mobile Home Village for many years. In the mid-1970s they moved to Oronoco, where they had a race horse farm. Mr. Book died in 1988. Linne returned to Rochester in 1995, where she remained until moving to Lake City in September 2012.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Oronoco, enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader, and in earlier years she enjoyed bowling.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Ken) Spong of Oronoco, Marlene (Larry) Wondrow of Charlotte, North Carolina, Karen Brehmer of Apple Valley, and Annette (Jeff) Leonard of Zumbro Falls; a son, John (Monique) Book of West Palm Beach, Florida; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles (Elaine) Manner of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Kappedal, a brother Elmer Manner, and an infant brother.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. If so desired, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
