Linda May Schott

Linda May Schott, 69, of Bay City, died unexpectedly at home on Friday August 25, 2023.  She was born January 24, 1954 to Earl Charles Doty and Joan Tuseth in Mason City, IA.  While growing up she lived in Fort Dodge, Iowa until her family moved to Northfield, Minnesota where they lived for a couple of years before moving to Red Wing, Minnesota.  Linda graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1972.  On April 27, 1974 she was united in marriage with Jeffrey Schott Sr.  She lived in Hager City, Wisconsin until 1975 when they moved back to Red Wing, Minnesota.  In 2011 she moved to Bay City, Wisconsin.  Linda worked at Big Wheel until she had children and then became a homemaker until her children were older.  She helped out at her husband’s place of business until 2006 when they both retired.

As a teenager she loved listening to music, twirling her baton, and hanging out at the pool hall.  Linda loved spending time with loved ones, shopping with her husband, feeding the birds, her favorite bird was the hummingbird.  During the holiday she would bake goodies with her mother, sister, daughter, and eventually granddaughter.  Linda enjoyed using her essentials oils to help others feel better.  Linda had a huge heart and cared deeply for family and friends, while also having a soft spot for animals.

She was preceded in death by her father, sister, husband, and grandparents.  She was survived by her mother, Joan Greenfield; sister, Polly Dettling; son, Jeffrey Schott Jr. (Vicki Dintelman); daughter, Heather (Daniel) Selisky; three grandsons, Adrian Schott, Stephen Schott, Austin Oman; three granddaughters, Alexandra Selisky, Ashley Hove, and Jazmyne Selisky; one nephew, Gregory Domke; two great grandchildren, Liam Oman and Rosemarey Catlin.

A celebration of life will be held at the Elks in Red Wing, MN on Saturday, September 30th, 2023 from Noon to 2pm for both Jeffrey and Linda Schott since there was no celebration done at the time of Jeffrey’s passing in 2020 due to Covid-19.
