Lillie Schultz

Lillie Irene Schultz, 95, of Red Wing died Monday, July 12, at Valentines. She was born on December 4, 1914 in Belle Creek Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota to Claus and Carrie (Johnson) Callstrom. She graduated from the 8th grade at District #41 Schools in 1928. On November 14, 1936, she was married to Edward Schultz. He died in May of 1946. After his death the family moved to Red Wing for a year before moving to Vasa Township to her husband's family farm. For a number of years she babysat and then in 1970 began working for several nursing homes in Red Wing, as a nurse's aide, until her retirement. For the past two years she has resided at Valentines Assisted Living. She was a member of First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed walking and going with her friends to Randy's Restaurant and the Donut Shop. Her family remembers her as a hardworking and loving mother and all the wonderful baking she would do, especially her apple recipes.

Survivors include three children, Mel (Maryann) Schultz of Hayfield, LaVonne (Bill) Sharp of Hager City and Dennis (Shirley) Schultz of Red Wing; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Berg of Red Wing and one brother, Wilfred (Ilene) Callstrom of Lenexa, Kansas along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and five brothers, Carl, Milton, Walter, Vincent and Morris.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 19 at First Lutheran Church with Reverend David Jore officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Garden Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 18 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorials are preferred to the church or donor's choice.
