PINE ISLAND The funeral for Lillian M. Wobig will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island, MN with Rev. John Torris Lohre and Rev. Kip Groettum officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.

Mrs. Wobig, 98, of Pine Island, died Saturday, (Feb. 27, 2010) at the Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.

Lillian Margaret Riggers was born April 25, 1911 in Zumbrota, MN to William and Martha (Lohmann) Riggers. On June 25, 1930 Lillian married Frederick (Fritz) Wobig. They lived and made their home in and around the Pine Island area. Lillian was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed being with her family, traveling, going fishing, playing cards, gardening, reading, crocheting, sewing, and cooking. Lillian was employed by the Pine Island School district as a cook until her retirement. Lillian was a long time member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church and the Rebecca Lodge.

Lillian is survived by her son Caryl (L. Margaret) Wobig, and her daughter Marlene (Robert) Schultz, both of Pine Island; two granddaughters, Margaret L. Wobig of Mankato, MN; and Caryline A. (Randy) Reiter of Rochester, MN; two great grandsons, Preston and William Reiter of Rochester; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, William and Martha Riggers, and her loving husband Frederick (Fritz) Wobig.

Visitation will be at the church one hour before the service.
