Lillian Anna Weckerling, 85, of Red Wing, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at the Seminary Home. She was born December 1, 1927, in East Farmington, Wisconsin, to Gustav and Anna (Papenfuss) Klug. She was baptized on March 27, 1928, confirmed on July 19, 1942 and united in marriage to Philip Weckerling on December 1, 1951, all at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Farmington. Philip died February 20, 1963.
Lillian is currently a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. She worked at various jobs including the City of Red Wing from 1969-1994. She will be remembered for her sharp wit and happy times visiting relatives and friends.
She is survived by sons, Paul (Vicki) of Red Wing, Kent (Lisa) of Goodhue; step-daughter, Sandra Jones of Rochester; grandchildren: Elisa (Randy) Nickum, Kyle, Derek (Katie), Cassandra (Denny) Tri, Zachary, Alex and Mitchell; step-grandchildren, Erin (Richard) Bellah, Dave and Elizabeth Jones; great-grandchildren, Carleen and Ethan Weckerling; cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip; siblings, Ernest, Adolph, Ella Johnson, Elmer, Clarence and two step-sons.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2013 at Concordia Lutheran Church with Reverend Ron Stehr officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in East Farmington, Wisconsin. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to Concordia Lutheran Church or donor's choice. A Celebration of Life will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Potting's in East Farmington. Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
