Rochester Lillian M. Nelson, 77, of Rochester, died Tuesday (Jan. 11, 2011) at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Rochester where she had resided since 2005.
Lillian Mary Bluhm was born Jan. 26, 1933 in Farmington Township, Olmsted County, Minnesota to William and Lina Bluhm. She attended country schools before graduating from Rochester High School in 1951. She married Willard D. "Willie" Nelson, he died Aug. 29, 2009. Lillian had worked as a waitress at the Depot House Restaurant and the Rochester Golf and Country Club in addition to being a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Steve of Rochester; and Willie, Jr. of Eyota, MN; her grandsons Willie of Rochester; and Christopher of Eyota; and two sisters, Adeline Miller, and Marion Anderson, both of Rochester. She was preceded in death by a son, Randy, one sister, and two brothers.
The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Mahn Family Funeral Home Rochester Chapel with Rev. Greg Heidorn of Grace Lutheran Church officiating. Spring burial will be in East St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery near Rock Dell, MN. Friends may call one hour before the service and a reception will be held after the service.
