ROCHESTER A memorial service for Lillian A. Damann will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 1, 2009) at Mahn Family Funeral Home Rochester Chapel. Private burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Damann, 97, of Rochester, died Monday (Dec. 1, 2008) at Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth where she had resided since 2001.
Lillian Florence Otte was born Jan. 1, 1911 in Dakota County, MN and attended school in Randoph, MN. On Feb. 10, 1931 she married Lawrence A. Damann in Hastings, MN; he died on June 27, 1992. The couple lived in Rochester, then Cumberland; Balsam Lake; Ellsworth; Union Grove; and River Falls, WI before moving to Lake City, MN. They retired in 1974 and wintered in Mission, TX for a number of years. After her husband died she moved to Townhall Estates in Rochester, then to Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth in 2001. She enjoyed homemaking, traveling, playing Bingo and 500.
Survivors include two daughters, Lenora A. (Mrs. Rolland) Anderson of Rochester; and Deborah (Oscar "Tim") Mathison of Cottage Grove, MN; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; Three sisters, Florence Millard of Spooner, WI; Dorothy Peterson of New Richmond, WI; and Odell Peterson of Rochester; and one brother, Dwain (Lorraine) Otte of Northfield, MN. Five sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Memorials are suggested to Seasons Hospice or Samaritan Bethany Foundation.
