Letha Carryer

ROCHESTER The memorial service for Letha "Pat" Carryer will be June 3, 2010 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 1884 22nd St. NW, at 10:30 am with the Rev. Dr. Douglas Sparks officiating. She was cremated and the inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Carryer, 91, of Rochester, died on Saturday (May 22, 2010) at Seasons Hospice in Rochester, Minnesota.
Letha Patterson was born Nov. 14, 1918 in Judsonia, Arkansas. When Letha was six months old her family moved to Wichita, Kansas where she graduated from High School. She then enrolled at St. Francis Nursing School in Wichita for three years. She graduated in 1936 and moved to Rochester that year where she worked as a Registered Nurse at Rochester Methodist Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital. She married Delmar G. Peterson in 1948, Mr. Peterson died in 1962. Letha then worked for the Mayo Clinic in the Allergy Lab for twenty-two years. She married Dr. Haddon M. Carryer in February of 1991, Dr. Carryer died in 1995. Letha was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, the Alice Mayo Society, and the Zumbro Valley Medical Society.
Survivors include her brother, Francis, "F.M" (Pauline) Patterson of Salina, Kansas; two step sons, Haddon (Ethel) Carryer of Carlisle, PA; and Dr. Peter (Carol) Carryer of Rochester; a step daughter, Diane Bancel of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and step grandchildren, Cathy Peterson, Eugene, OR and David (Paula) Peterson, Reno, NV, Jeff (Laura) Carryer, Haddon (Damita Jo) Carryer, Paulanna (Jim) Millhollin, Ben Carryer, Dominique (Chad) Marion, Paul Bancel, Elliot Bancel; step-great grandchildren, Kyle and Kelly Peterson.
Survivors also include nieces and nephews: Elaine Yost, York, NE, Sherry (Monty) Montee, Salina, KS, Sandra (Rick) Patterson-Slaydon, Estes Park, CO, Stan (Marilyn) Patterson, Salina, KS, David Patterson, Memphis, TN.

Great nieces and nephews: Anne Yost, Omaha, NE, Andrew (Jennifer) Yost, Decatur, AL, Kimberly (Tom) Stith, Olathe, KS, Weston (Kimberly) Montee, Plano, TX, Marcella (Jeremy) Cosby, Wichita, KS, Judd Patterson, Miami, FL, Jessie Patterson, K.C., MO, Morgan and Davin Olson, Portland, OR, Clarissa Olson, Salina, KS, Angelique Patterson.
Great-great nieces and nephews: Miranda and Molly Stith, Olathe, KS, Jackson, Makayla and Jake Montee, Plano, TX, Bailey, Brendan and Brooks Cosby, Wichita, KS, Amanda and Aimee Yost, Decatur, AL.
Two brothers, Angus Patterson and Joseph Patterson, and a sister, Kathryn Peterson, a niece, Karen Olson, and one step son, Donald Peterson, a step-grandson, Michael Carryer also preceded her in death.

Friends may call at 9 am prior to the service at the church. A reception will be held following the memorial service at the church and burial thereafter.
