OBITUARY: Leslie H. "Les" Mullinix

Memorial service for Leslie H. "Les" Mullinix will be at 2pm, on Friday, October 10, 2008 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island with Reverend John Torris Lohre and Reverend Kip Groettum officiating. Honorary casketbearers will be his grandchildren: Thomas Jackson, Jace Jackson and Hunter Shelstad. Burial of his cremains will take place at a later date.

Leslie Herman Mullinix, age 69, of Pine Island died on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at his residence. He was born on June 6, 1939 in Zumbro Township, Wabasha County, MN to James and Violet (Beck) Mullinix. Les attended rural country school in Wabasha Co. and gradated from Eyota High School. He entered the United States Army, serving in Germany during the Vietnam Era. Following his honorable discharge, Les returned to Eyota where he drove semi-trucks. On October 15, 1977, he married Patricia Forrest in Zumbrota. After their marriage, the couple lived around the Stewartville / Wanamingo / Pine Island areas. He was a member of the Charles Cowden Post #184 American Legion in Pine Island and enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing and hunting.

Les is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Pine Island; one daughter, Pam (Dan), of Hackensack, MN; two sons: Brian, of Zumbrota, and Shawn (Lori) of Oronoco; seven grandchildren: Tom, Jace, Paige, Haily, Hunter, Jenny and Jessy; two great-grandchildren: Drake and Sydney; two sisters: Barb (Larry) Davis and Marge Thomasson, all of Rochester. Les was preceded in death by his parents, James and Violet.

Visitation will be one hour before services at the church on Friday.
