LeRoy W. Dostal

DODGE CENTER ? A memorial service for LeRoy W. ?Roy? Dostal will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Michelle Miller officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Kasson, MN. Mr. Dostal, 84, of Rochester, formerly of Dodge Center and Kasson, died Thursday (Nov. 23, 2006) at Madonna Towers in Rochester. Born July 25, 1922 in Owatonna, MN, he was raised in the Owatonna and Dodge Center areas on the family farms. He attended Country Schools. On March 30, 1946 he married Myrtle Laures in Kasson. The couple farmed in the Dodge Center area before moving to Rochester in 1948. He was a truck driver for the Rochester Dairy, Leon Joyce Construction, Sullivan Construction, and Road Constructors. Myrtle died July 25, 1965. On Dec. 26, 1981 he married Evelyn Gransee in Dodge Center where the couple made their home. He retired in 1986 and worked as a driver for Lowell?s Auto of Dodge Center. He had resided at Madonna Towers since July of this year. He was a member of the Rochester Eagles Club and the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed playing cards and fishing.Survivors include his wife of Dodge Center and Kasson; three daughters, Patricia Dostal of Rochester; Pamela (Bobby) Runyon of St. Petersburg, FL; and Peggy (Bruce) Berndt of Rochester; four sons, David (Sherry) of Meadow Lakes, TX; Steven (Shelley) of Rochester; Robert (LuAnn) of Madelia, MN; and Gary of Rochester; two step-daughters, Jeanette (William) Dostal of Alexandria, MN; and Linda (Dean) Newman of Isle, MN; twenty six grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; three sisters, Delores (Mel) Renne of Bloomington, MN; Betty Knippel of Independence, IA; and Judy (Sherman) Jensen of Owatonna; four brothers, Jerome (LaVonne) of Minneapolis; Edward (Janet) of Balsam Lake, WI; William (Jeanette) of Alexandria; and Lloyd (Dorene) of Dodge Center. Two sons, one daughter, and two brothers preceded him in death.Friends may call one hour before the service at the Church.Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Rochester Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
