LeRoy "Toby" Allhiser

LeRoy A. "Toby" Allhiser, age 85 of Goodhue died on Friday, January 17, 2020 at his home. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota
LeRoy Andrew Allhiser was born on August 24, 1934 in Elgin, MN to Edward H. and Bernice M. (Plank) Allhiser. Toby spent his early years on a farm in rural Plainview. He moved with his family to Rochester when he was 8 years old. At age 17, Toby started working for the Railroad. On November 12, 1955 he married Rita Ryan and they moved to Milwaukee, WI. He worked for Brigg's and Stratton. Toby and Rita purchased their farm in 1960 and moved to rural Goodhue. While working for Gould Foundry in Lake City, Toby also did cash crop farming. Toby later worked at Meyer Industries in Red Wing. In the 1970's Toby started bartending at the Corner Bar in Goodhue. Toby worked for many years as a bartender and was known as "The Best Bartender You Could Ever Have". In 1989, Toby purchased Pepper's in Mazeppa and also ran a catering business with his wife, Rita. Toby was an avid fisherman and Vikings fan. He also loved to socialize with friends, go to meat raffles, play cards and cribbage, shoot pool, watch old time country western movies, travel, polka dance and make his famous "Sauerkraut".
Toby is survived by his children, Mary Rose (Michael) Mann, Jean (Tony) Vieths, Terry (Joel Ringeisen) Kehren, Gayle (Allyn) Turner, Larry Allhiser and Susie (Brad) Ringeisen; grandchildren, Paul (Sarah) Mann, Michelle (Travis) Goodman, Andy Mann, John (Kimm Burns) Vieths, Sheila (Shawn) Poston, Sabrina (Calvin) Befort, Tara (Brock) Marklevits, Angel (Brian) Nelson, Amanda (Daniel) Dominguez, Jeff (Jenny) Turner, Ashley McQuiston, Tyler, Ryan, Adam and Kelli Ringeisen; seventeen great-grandchildren and brother, LuVerne "Lefty" (Nancy) Allhiser.
Toby was preceded in death by his wife, Rita: sister, Lucille and brother, Harold.
