Leora K Streiff

Leora Kathryn Streiff, 93, of Pine Island, died Thursday, November 03, 2011 at Pine Haven Care Center. She was born on October 14, 1918, in Milton Township, Dodge County, MN the daughter of Eugene and Rose (nee Day) Noser. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school in Berne. Leora was a nanny and homemaker for couples around the area. On August 7, 1937, she married Claude L. Streiff in Berne. They made their home around Berne and West Concord and later in New Haven Township and rural Zumbrota. In 1954, they moved to Richmond, CA and returned to Pine Island in 1976 after Claude retired. Leora worked at the Pine Haven Care Center from 1978 to 1983. Claude died on May 25, 1996. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pine Island, Church of the Good Shepherd in Richmond, CA, and the Pine Island Senior Citizens. Leora enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, playing cards, and traveling.
She is survived by one son, Gayle (Ann) Streiff of Zumbrota; two daughters, Bonita "Bonnie" (Duane) Kundert of Pine Island, Betty (Evan) Avery of Merced, CA; ten grandchildren, Kathy (Mike) Guenther, Kari (Duane) McGowan, Susan (Jerry) Moore, Kevin Kundert, Jon Kundert, Jeff (Jayme) Avery, Kristi (Bryan) Sorenson, Kelly (Mike) Paulson, Janelle (John) Willing and Brian Streiff; twenty-six great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Arlene) Noser of Zumbrota; and one sister, Mavis (Junie Andrist) Lerol of Pine Island.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude; one daughter, Rita Marie; four brothers, Lyle, Kelly, Haven, and Richard Noser; one sister, Delores "Sis" Gullickson; and one niece, Mary Jean Geise.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Pine Island with Pastor Carolyn Westlake officiating. Burial will be at Pine Island Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Mahn Family Funeral Home- Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
