Leone Benidt, 95, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. She was born June 11, 1916 in Goodhue, the daughter of William F. and Lena (Dropschaski) Buck. She grew up and attended school in Goodhue. She married Williard Benidt on November 17, 1937 in Goodhue. Leone was a homemaker and she farmed with her husband for many years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Goodhue. She enjoyed crafts, knitting afghans for every grandchild, fishing, traveling and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her sons: Paul Benidt of Red Wing and David (Jan) Benidt of Goodhue; grandchildren: Lori (Tim) Anderson, Sarah (Gene) Grave, Ed (Darlene) Dahle, Tim (Mary) Benidt, Jim (Stacy) Dahle, Becky (Jeff) Purcell, Dan (Georgette) Benidt, Jeanne (Mark) Waldrop, Michael (Christina) Adams; twenty-five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Verneil Voth of Red Wing and Mathias and Kenneth (Verleen) Buck, all of Zumbrota; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Kathy Adams; one brother, Silas Buck and one sister, Ebba Bredehoft.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Goodhue, with Reverend Andrew Krause officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel is handling arrangements.
