Leonard Frederick Dicke, 91, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Seminary Home. He was born February 5, 1924 to Fred and Anna (Strusz) Dicke in Red Wing. He attended parochial and country school in the Hay Creek and Featherstone area. After attending school, he worked as a hired man for George and Fran Mehrkens. On September 30, 1950 he was united in marriage to Burnetta Kleiber in Plainview. The couple farmed in Belle Creek and Hager City before moving to the family farm in Featherstone where they lived and worked for 43 years. He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau. In his free time Leonard enjoyed refinishing furniture, reading and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Burnetta; three sons, Bruce (Sharon) of Litchfield, Kenneth (Sheila) of Red Wing and Gerald Dicke of Red Wing; five grandchildren, Alisa (Eric) Johnson, Kenneth (Mary Alice), Kari (Erik) Schlicht, Korey (Jen Schutz) Dicke and Tamara (Dan) Minton; six great grandchildren; Matthew, Alayna, Ella, Sophia, Addison and Ian; four sisters, Arlene Hadler of Goodhue, Evelyn Meyer of Belvidere, Lois (Stanley) Klair of Goodhue and Ruth (Myron) Alms of Red Wing; three brothers, Alvin (Grace) Dicke of Goodhue, Glenn (Janet) Dicke of Rochester and Lloyd (Mary) Dicke of Titusville, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hay Creek with Reverend Lowell Sorenson officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at church. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Mayo Clinic Red Wing Hospice or donor's choice. Arrangements with the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
