Leona M. Olson, 95, of Spooner, died on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Hager City, WI. She was born on April 4, 1927, in Janesville, WI to Glenn and Viola (Churchill) Voigtlander. After graduating from Spooner High School during WWII, she went to O’Hare Airport in Chicago to work on airplanes for the war. She married Vance Olson on May 31, 1947. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spooner. Leona lived most of her life in Spooner, where she helped run the family farm. Loving nature, her favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting, and gardening. She was a member of T.O.P.S. for 50 years. She loved going to the casino and playing bingo and cards.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Jane) Olson of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; daughter, Carol (Robert) Graske of Hager City; five grandchildren, Neal Olson of Lakeville, MN, Emma Olson of Fairport, NY, Gina Olson of Verona, WI, Monica Graske of Prior Lake, MN, and Mark Graske of Hager City, WI; three great-grandchildren, Caden, Grant, and Boone; two sisters, Beatrice Stafford of Spooner, WI and Louise Larson of Forest Lake, MN; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vance; brothers, Vencil, Donald, Clarence, and William Voigtlander; and sister, Lila Moore.
A graveside service will be held at the Spooner Cemetery. The family would like to thank Adoray Hospice for the love and care that they gave Leona. Arrangements made by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing.
