Leona Bernice Dack, age 90, of Red Wing, died Tuesday, February 6, at her home. She was born on September 28, 1916, in Vasa Township, to Arthur and Clara (Bloom) Monson. She attended school in Vasa and Cannon Falls. She married Lavern Dack on December 3, 1941, and they moved to Red Wing in 1957. He died on March 6, 1988. She did seamstress work and childcare. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and rug making. She was a Minnesota Twins fan, enjoyed politics and was very religious. Survivors include two sons, Hugh (Jan Peterson) Dack of Red Wing, and Terry (Neysa Hall) Dack of Glasgow, MT; two grandchildren, David (Jean) Wobig and Deborah (Kent) Hern; five great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Patrick and Jacob Wobig, and Kayla and Kade Hern. Preceding her in death were her husband, one daughter, Shirley Ann Wobig, and an infant brother. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, with Reverend Michael Dobbins officiating. Burial will be in Vasa Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
