Leo Stucky age 99 of Pine Island died on Sunday, August 20, 2006 at the Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Mahler Chapel in Pine Island with Bishop Brent Larson of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints officiating. Burial will be in Pine Island Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Leo Stucky was born on June 7, 1907 in Milton Township, Dodge County, MN to Leonard and Edith Stucky. He grew up on the farm and attended country school. In 1926 he graduated from Mantorville High School and then attended the Mankato Commercial College. On March 1, 1927 he married Wanda B. Kracht in Rochester. Leo started working as a bookkeeper for the Farmers State Bank on April 1, 1927. In 1931 Farmers State Bank and Citizens State Bank consolidated, becoming Security State Bank, where Leo worked until retiring as executive vice president in December of 1967. He continued to serve on the bank board until 1975. Leo was a member of various banking organizations and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge in Pine Island. Leo enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. Leo is survived by his children, Gyla Clarkson of Pine Island, Dr. L. Joe (Kay) Stucky of Eau Claire, WI, Barbara Gerber of Mesa, AZ, and Dr. James L. (Judith) Stucky of Plainview; seventeen grandchildren and forty nine great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and half brother, Harold (Mardell) Zuercher of the Madison, WI area. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda, two sons, Dr. William L. Stucky, formerly of Thomasville, GA, and Dr. Max L. Stucky, formerly of Kasson, two grandchildren, Melissa and Steven Stucky, three sisters, Ella M. Hayward, Eva A. Weckerling, and Hazel Stucky and half sister, Elrose Groves.
