Leo Dammann

Leo F. Dammann age 71 of Lake City passed away Friday, January 25, 2008 at the Lake City Hospital Mayo Health System.

Leo was born October 23, 1936, in Red Wing Minnesota to Fritz & Leila (Gruhlke) Dammann. Leo graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City in 1955. He married Elaine Schmidt, September 26, 1959 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake City. They lived in Lake City and Leo worked at Federal Mogul in Lake City where he has been employed for over 30 years. Leo was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City, Ducks Unlimited, Wood Butchers, and the Lake City Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed, hunting, fishing, playing cards at the VFW in Lake City with his friends. Elaine passed away October 30, 1972.

Leo is survived by three sons, Lynn "Duff" Dammann of Lake City, Terry "Pete" Dammann of Lake City, Tom (Jennifer) Dammann of St. Cloud, FL; three grandchildren, Katie, Allie, Cody Dammann all of Lake City; a step-grandson, Paul Dubrey of Maryville, TN; two sisters, Bert (Richard) Mackey of White Bear Lake, MN, Lois (David) Hammer of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine (Schmidt) Dammann, and his parents.

A Memorial service will be held Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 2:00 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Dennis Valleau officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
