Lee Austin Miller, 81, of Bay City, died Thursday, December 15, 2016 at United Hospital in St. Paul. He was born December 21, 1934 in Red Wing to Austin and Rochelle (Mason) Miller. He attended and graduated from Ellsworth High School. He joined the United States Navy as a Seabee Builder and was a 2nd Class Petty Officer from October 18, 1954-October 18, 1958. He worked as a brick layer for 41 years and retired in October of 1993. He married Adeline Florence Rigelman on June 25, 1960 at Christ Episcopal Church in Red Wing. Lee was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and the Harding-Hall-Darrington American Legion Post #357 in Bay City. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, dominos, playing cards and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Lee never missed the Pierce County Fair.
Lee is survived by his four children, Lance (Sheila) Miller of Bay City, Scott Miller of Ellsworth, Brenda Miller of Ellsworth, and Brent Miller of Bay City; seven grandchildren, Spencer Miller, Taylor Miller, Brandon Miller, Courtney Seipel, Mariah Schuster, Jaren Schuster, and Jace Schuster; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Adeline, his parents, and sisters Marilyn Motl and Jacqueline Anderson.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2016 at Christ Episcopal Church in Red Wing with Father Tristian English officiating. Burial will be at the Bay City Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
