Lee E. Erickson was born July 19, 1916 in Zumbrota and was raised in Red Wing by his mother, Emma (Sparley) and father, Oscar Erickson. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1934. On March 3, 1943 he married Joyce Vann in Red Wing. He retired from Haas Display Company in Minneapolis in 1980. Joyce died May 30, 1990. He married Beverly Decker-Erickson in 1993. He was a 52 year member of Alcoholics Anonymous and he enjoyed reading, computers, fishing and photography. Lee died Monday, June 18, 2007, at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park, in Red Wing, Minnesota, at the age of 90 years, 10 months, 30 days.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Red Wing; children, Brandt (Diane) Erickson of Aurora, Colorado; Jerry Decker of Red Wing and Sue (Steven) Bystrom of Colombia, MO; 7 grandchildren, Tanya (Austin) Bouthiller, Robb (Beronica) Neumann, DeeDee Erickson, Matthew, Melissa, and Kristin Decker, and Angela Aparo; 7 great-grandchildren, Carter, Josh, Lucas, Kiara, Chloe, Josephine, and Jonathan; and 2 sisters, Donna (Harry) Peterson of Minneapolis and Dorothy Knudson of Red Wing He was preceded in death by an infant brother; his first wife, Joyce; an infant daughter; a sister, Delores "Ricky" Everett and a daughter, Julie Perkins.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Clark Cary officiating. Burial will be at Burnside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Reid Miller, Tom, Dick and Grant Ruble, Bruce Seagarstrom and Dave Schlangen. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerorge Taylor, Judie Cushing, Heather Morgan and Shelia and Bruce Meyer.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to United Lutheran Church in honor of A. A.
