Lawson Bowen-Meredith, age 80 of Lake City formerly of St. Paul, passed away on September 6, 2011 at Lake City Care Center.
Lawson was born September 9, 1930 in London, England to Wilfred & Amy (Bull) Bowen-Meredith. On November 7, 1953 he married Molly Hyde in Bedfordshire, England. Lawson and his wife Molly moved to the US in 1957. He owned and operated the South Wind Restaurant in South St. Paul with his parents. He also worked at the U of M for 25 years in Management Plant Services. He was also Household Coordinator for the U of M President C. Peter Magrette & P.H. Keller, until retiring in 1993. Lawson and his wife moved to Lake City in 2002. He was a Master Mason and was a member of Mizpah Lodge #191 in, St. Paul, Carnelian Lodge #40 Lake City, Royal Arch Chapter #1, St. Paul, Knights Templar, St. Paul, Capitular Masons #1, St. Paul, Scottish Rite 32, St. Paul. His hobby was restoring M.G. Sport Cars.
Lawson is survived by his wife, Molly; one sister, Shirley (David) Leck of Thorpe Bay, England; two nieces, Nicola and Stephanie of England. He was loved and will be missed by them all. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on September 17th, 2011 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Lake City with Father Phil McNairy officiating.
