Lawrence "Larry" Gossett

Lawrence "Larry" Wilfred Gossett Jr., 79, of Red Wing, died Sunday, December 20, 2015 at his residence. He was born November 12, 1936, in Red Wing, to Lawrence Sr. and Violet (Burklund) Gossett. He graduated from high school in Prescott, Wisconsin, and then enlisted in the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne Division. He then went to work at 3M and Atlas Loose-Leaf until his retirement in 1999. During his retirement he enjoyed some of his favorite pastimes including fishing, reading and listening to country music. Larry especially enjoyed spending time with his family, going out to breakfast, cooking and entertaining. He also enjoyed helping people, which included driving people to their medical appointments.

He is survived by his children, Lorelei (Jim) Hanson, Doreen (Dean) Hodsdon, Adrian (Connie) Gossett; grandchildren, Travis and Chantel Hanson, Josh and Jake Hodsdon, and Nick Larson; sisters, Beverly (John) Emerson, Barb Holden, Sharon (Bob) Kelly and Jeannie (Gene) Earnie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Gossett; parents, Lawrence Sr. and Violet Gossett; infant brother, Michael Gossett, sisters, Joy Gossett and Sandra Larson.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 26, 2015 St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Reverend Robert Kelly officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Online condolences can be sent at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
