LaVonne J. Schultz, age 76, of Mazeppa, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
LaVonne Jean Lorenz was born on June 1, 1937 in Millville, to Norman and Florence (Kent) Lorenz. She graduated from Millville High School. On August 20, 1960 she married Martin C. Schultz at St. John's Lutheran Church - Bear Valley in rural Mazeppa. She worked at Pace Dairy, Plainview Canning, Treasure Island and also dedicated several years to taking care of her parents. LaVonne enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, flowers, fishing. She also enjoyed having company, especially her family over.
LaVonne is survived by her husband, Martin of Mazeppa; son, Dennis (Mary) Riege of Aurora, CO.; daughters, Wanda and Sue Schultz both of Mazeppa, Charlene (Jerry) Sexton of Stewartville; son, Paul (Ginny) Schultz of Rochester; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Florence; sons, Gene and Marc Schultz.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota with Pastor Eric Westlake officiating. Burial will be in the Zumbrota Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
