Laverne A. Trisko

July 9, 1930 — April 18, 2012

Laverne A. Trisko, 81, of Pine Island, died Wednesday, April 18 2012 at Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. Michael's Catholic Chucrh in Pine Island. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Catholic Church Cemetery - Belle River in Carlos, MN. Visitation will be Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Laverne Adeline Bredeson was born on July 9, 1930 in Moe Township, Douglas County, MN to Oliver and Ruth (nee Sanders) Bredeson. She grew up in the Brandon and Holme City areas. In 1950, Laverne graduated from Jefferson High School in Alexandria. She worked as a nanny and housekeeper for many years. On February 15, 1969 she married Vincent Trisko at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Stewartville. They made their home in Pine Island and Laverne was a homemaker. Vincent died in 1980. Laverne was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and she enjoyed walking, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, coffee with family and friends and attending the Pine Island Cheese Festival.

Laverne is survived by her children, Clyde (Denise) Trisko and Mavis (Dan) Gullickson, all of Pine Island; grandchildren, Cody Gullickson, Lucas Gullickson, Brianna Trisko and Kaylee Trisko; great granddaughter, Olivia Gullickson and brothers, Rollo (Shirley) Bredeson of Hiawatha, IA and Arnie (Corie) Bredeson of Alexandria, MN.

Laverne was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent: parents, Oliver and Ruth and brother, Warren Bredeson.

Arrangements are with Mahn Family Funeral Home - Mahler Chapel in Pine Island.
