Laurinda Emma Schultz, 89, of Red Wing, died Monday, May 28, 2012 at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. She was born on August 21, 1922 in Mazeppa, Minnesota to John and Clara (Prigge) Damman. She attended rural schools near Mazeppa and was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa. For a few years she helped families in the Mazeppa area on their farms. On September 29, 1943 she was married to Reynold Schultz at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa. They farmed near Goodhue, moving to Frontenac in 1955 and to Red Wing in 1999. She worked for Riedell Shoes for many years, retiring in 1984. Reynold died on November 30, 1999. She had resided at Jordon Towers and more recently at the Fairview Seminary Home. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Frontenac. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, crocheting, camping and playing cards.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Bubbers of Lake City and Judy (Daniel) Anderson of Turtle Lake, Wis.; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister, LaVerle Roschen of Red Wing and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; granddaughter, Dawn Anderson; one brother, Elton and one sister, Rosella Mueller.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Frontenac with Rev. Christopher Hopper officiating. Burial will be in the Burnside Cemetery in Red Wing. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home. Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
