Laurie Voorhees, 67, passed away at her home in Red Wing on Monday, August 16, 2021.
Laurie was born on July 2, 1954 in Lake City to Robert & Mary Ann (Stuhr) Angell. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1972. She married Rick Taylor and they later divorced. Laurie later married Jim Voorhees and they also divorced. Laurie worked at Jostens in Red Wing for 30 years and then worked as a cook at the Red Wing Technical College until her retirement. Laurie enjoyed taking trips with her family and friends, she loved her cats and watching the birds she fed. One of her great loves was fishing.
She is survived by her daughters, Andria (Dan) Walker of Lake City, Maria (Tim) Voorhees-Reincke of Lake City; 4 grandchildren, Josh Walker, Sydney Voorhees, Kylee Voorhees, Stella Reincke; 4 brothers, Rick (Rayne) Angell of Hammond, Gary “Bim” Angell of Wabasha, Corey Angell of Annandale, Shawn Angell of Seattle, WA.; 1 sister, Barb Todeff of Durand, WI.
Laurie is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Becky Toole; 2 brothers, Robert “Duff” Angell and Mike Angell.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 24, 2021, from 4p to 6p at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson- Peterson Chapel in Lake City. On line condolences may be placed at www.mahnfamilyfuneral home.com
