Laurence Hunt

Laurence "Larry" E. Hunt, age 71, of Pine Island died suddenly on Thursday morning, December 23, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Wednesday December 29, 2010 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Mahler Chapel in Pine Island with the Reverend Gary Wees officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Pine Island Cemetery at a later date.

Larry Eugene Hunt was born on February 8, 1939 in Kenyon to Laurence and Vivian (Morris) Hunt. He attended various schools in the Zumbrota and Pine Island area. He joined the United Sates Marine Corps on February 13, 1956 and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. He was discharged on February 12, 1959. On April 2, 1960 Larry married Joyce Weis at the United Methodist Church in Pine Island. The couple made Pine Island their home. Larry worked as a brick layer for Weiss Builders in Rochester and various other construction comapnies. He retired from brick laying after 43 years.

Larry enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed swimming, music, traveling to Arizona in the winters, and spending time with family and friends.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Joyce; his son Mitch Hunt of Pine Island; his sisters, Arlene Podratz of Rochester, Jeanne (Dave) Berg of Pine Island, Evelyn (Steve) Mohlke of Oronoco, Marsha Sprague of Pine Island; his brothers, Gary (Mary) Hunt of Eagan, Ronald Hunt of Zumbrota, Dennis (Diane) Hunt of West Concord; aunts; uncles; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence Hunt, Vivian and his step-father, Samuel Adler.
