Larry T. O'Connor

Larry Thomas O'Connor, 68, Red Wing, died Thursday, February 12, 2009 at his home. He was born April 20, 1940 in Maiden Rock, WI, the son of Thomas O'Connor and Teresa Ward. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1958. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served until honorably discharged August 20, 1965. He retired from Capital Safety in 2002. He enjoyed sports, was passionate about music and was a loving father and husband.

Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Elaine O'Connor; his loving daughters: Cara and Erin O'Connor; stepchildren: Daren Duflo, Renee Jones, Denise Larson; other children: Kelly and Kristy; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice "Bunny" Eckhoff; uncle, Richard "Dick" O'Connor; and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas O'Connor and Teresa Ward; one son, Joey O'Connor and two brothers, Robert O'Connor and Giles Bunce.

Funeral will be 11 a. m. Monday, February 16, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Lynne Rigg officiating. Burial will be Tuesday at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Victor Jones, Shawn Jones, Nathan Hince, Joe Matthews, Eric Jensen and Justin Larson. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Luncheon will follow the funeral at the Red Men Club.
