Larry W. Horn

Larry Walter Horn, 65, of Red Wing, died peacefully at his home on Monday, December 14, 2009, after a lengthy battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Larry was born on August 2, 1944, in Red Wing, the son of Walter and Lucile (Voth) Horn. He married Lana Madsen on September 5, 1998 at Immanuel Lutheran, Hay Creek in Red Wing. A lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hay Creek, he served on the Board of Trustees. Larry graduated in 1962 from Central High School in Red Wing and joined the Army National Guard thereafter. He was employed for many years as a construction equipment operator and truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Lana of Red Wing; two brothers James (Audrey) Horn of Red Wing and Curtis Horn of Cottage Grove; two sisters Lois (Arthur) Plath of Oakdale, and Judy (Gene) Rummel of East Lansing, Michigan; brother-in-law Kenneth Bahlman of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and several nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Glenda Bahlman.

Memorial Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, December 18, 2009 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hay Creek with Reverend Lowell Sorenson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Private family burial will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery, Red Wing. Memorials preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
