Larry R. Groth age 68 of Zumbrota died on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 2:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church ? Minneola in rural Zumbrota with Reverend Randall Kuznicki officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 21, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Larry Raymond Groth was born on January 5, 1939 in Rochester, MN to Ervin H. and Neva A. (nee Butturff) Groth. Larry grew up in rural Zumbrota and graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1958. After graduation Larry farmed with his parents. He entered the U.S. Army on November 27, 1961, served in Germany and was honorably discharged on November 11, 1963. He returned to farming with his father and continued farming until his death. Larry was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church ? Minneola. He enjoyed going to auctions, watching football and basketball and sporting events.

Larry is survived by one sister, Janice (Tom) Mann of Cannon Falls; one brother, Duane (Marilyn) Groth of Zumbrota; two nieces, Monica (Chris Sheldon) Groth, and Sabrina (Chad) Horsman; five nephews, Jay (Heidi) Nygaard, Darren (Jule) Nygaard, Anthony (Kimberly) Groth, Trevor Groth and Thomas (Jessica) Mann Jr.; and many great nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Neva Groth.

Casketbearers are Jay Nygaard, Darren Nygaard, Anthony Groth, Trevor Groth, Kent Haugen and Dan Jeanson. The family suggests memorials to St. John's Lutheran Church ? Minneola or Angels Care Center.
