Larry L. Garnatz, age 51, of Zumbrota formerly of Wykoff, died on Friday, November 9, 2012. He was born on November 23, 1960, in Rochester, to Dale and Metta (Konken) Garnatz. Larry attended elementary and high school at Wykoff Public Schools. He then went to Winona State University, in Winona, and received a B.S. degree in Sociology, Criminal Justice, and a minor in music. Larry then moved to the Rochester area where he lived until he was transferred through work to Cannon Falls. He later moved to Zumbrota and had lived there since 2007.
Larry was a member of United Redeemer Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. He enjoyed wood working, gardening, general handyman jobs, and deer hunting with his nephews, nieces, and friends. Larry was always willing to help. He loved spending time with his family.
Larry is survived by his sisters, Myrna Meyer of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Lynda (Charles) Stephen of Spring Valley, and one sister-in-law, Mary (nee Rix) Garnatz of Chatfield; ten nieces and nephews; and twenty-one great nieces and nephews; four great-great nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dayle Garnatz, Veryl Garnatz; sister, Gayle Garnatz; and two nieces.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012 at United Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Isaacson officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Wykoff. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:30 p.m. on Thursday November 15, 2012 at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
