Larris "Larry" Vernon Hauschildt

Larris “Larry” Vernon Hauschildt, 76, of Red Wing, died Saturday, January 27, 2024 in Rochester. He was born July 4, 1947 in Red Wing to Vernon and Grace (Sjoblom) Hauschildt. He attended Red Wing schools and graduated from Red Wing High School in 1965. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1966 and served until his honorable discharge in 1970. Larry worked various construction jobs until 1974 when he started work at the S.B. Foot Tanning Co. He retired in 2001 due to health reasons.

In 1974 he married Jeaney Zarbock. The couple later divorced. He married Polly Ann McKenna in 1993.

Larry was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Gophers. He was an excellent bowler and is in the Red Wing Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his wife, Polly; son, Ryan (Angie); step children, Holly, Joy (Clint), and Jack; step-son, from a previous marriage, Brett; sister, he graciously and unselfishly raised as a daughter, from age five, following the death of his parents; Holly (Jeff); brother, Dale (Darlene); sister, Jolene (George); and six grandchildren.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, February 15, 2024 at First Lutheran Church in Red Wing with visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
